Welcome to dikr — a platform for Islamic adhkar, duas, and Quran. We deeply respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal data. This policy explains what we collect, what we don't collect, and how any information related to your visit is used.

2. Information We Collect

a. What We Never Collect

  • We do not require account creation or login.
  • We do not collect personal information such as name, email address, or phone number.
  • We do not track your browsing behaviour and we never sell your data to any third party.
  • We do not use cookies for advertising or tracking purposes.

b. Local Storage

The site uses your browser's localStorage exclusively to save your preferences, such as:

  • Light / Dark mode preference.
  • Tasbih counter settings (selected dhikr, target, count).
  • Prayer times preferences (city, calculation method, time adjustments).
  • Quran reading position and font size.
  • Navigation bar show/hide preference.

This data is stored on your device only and is never sent to our servers. You can clear it at any time from your browser settings.

c. Geolocation Data

The Prayer Times page requests permission to access your location in order to calculate accurate prayer times. This data is used directly in your browser via the open-source Adhan.js library and is never transmitted to our servers. When you manually search for a city, the search query is sent to Nominatim / OpenStreetMap, subject to their Privacy Policy.

d. Server Logs

Like any website, our server may automatically retain technical logs including IP address, browser type, requested URL, and timestamp. These logs are used for operational and security purposes only, and are never linked to any personal identity.

3. Third-Party Services

The site relies on the following services, each governed by their own privacy policy:

  • Google Fonts / Font Awesome — for loading fonts and icons.
  • OpenStreetMap / Nominatim — for city search on the Prayer Times page.
  • Adhan.js — an open-source library that runs locally to calculate prayer times.

We do not use Google Analytics or any third-party analytics or tracking tool.

4. Content Rights

Quran text, adhkar, and duas presented on this site are derived from authenticated Islamic sources and belong to the Muslim Ummah at large. Any original code or design by dikr is protected by intellectual property rights.

5. Children's Privacy

Our site is suitable for all ages. We do not collect any personal data from any user regardless of age, making the site safe for family use.

6. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The date of the last revision is shown at the top of this page. Continued use of the site after any change constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
